The EDS garage is a resource for students to use advanced prototyping materials. Student workers can assist with the laser engraving process, 3D printing, and soldiering work. The garage houses an electrical station, two laser cutters/engravers, and Lulzbot Taz 3D printers, with more tools on the way! We aim to be a place where students can have access and training on advanced tools to improve their ‘making’ skill set.

How 3D printing works in the Garage: Pricing, Materials, and Ordering
Student employees work in the EDS Garage to 3D print objects students need. All one has to do is give them your .stl file and pay.
MakerBot/Taz: Regular print ( $5.00 and $0.05 per gram over 50 grams).
The Garage prints in ABS and PLA depending on the request, but if you want a special filament, the garage can help you order it. We will print the pieces you want, and do all of the print adjustments for a new material for you as well.
The best way to communicate with the students workers is to fill out the order form below or go see students in the Garage weekdays between 8am-5pm.
Epsilon Laser Cutter | Laser Engraving and Cutting Workshop
A laser engraver/cutter is a machine that you can put certain thin sheets of plastic and wood into. It then uses a laser to etch patters, shapes, and letters into. One can also use the laser to cut completely through the material int any shape they wish. This is an easy and great way to make!
